Heritage
Founded in Italy in 1884. Established Heritage: 50-100 years
Bulgari was founded in Rome in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris, whose surname was later Latinized to BVLGARI, using the Roman alphabet where "V" represents both U and V. Originally renowned as one of the world's premier luxury jewellery houses, Bulgari entered the watch business in the 1970s with the iconic BVLGARI ROMA digital watch and later the legendary Bulgari Bulgari collection designed by Gérald Genta. Today Bulgari combines Italian design and Swiss watchmaking, producing watches in Switzerland while maintaining the bold aesthetic associated with Roman architecture and jewellery. During the last decade the company has transformed itself into one of the most innovative haute horlogerie manufacturers, setting multiple world records for ultra-thin mechanical watches through its Octo Finissimo collection.
